Jug lines at ray bob. Need advise !

Hello I'm planning on running some jug lines at ray bob this weekend. Any one have any advise on depth put them in ? Also I was planning on using goldfish. Any ideas on bait for blues ? Please advise. Thanks

shad,perch or buffalo/carp fish are shallow I would target 4'in timber

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's illegal to use goldfish. They're considered an invasive species.

Goldfish are completely legal to use, it probably comes into affect of you release then into the lake

i would use shad or perch or minnows on jugs. put them near some trees and wait for it! had lots of luck at Buck creek just west of the train bridge. HTH

live bait isnt generally used for blues. They are mostly for yellows. cut shad,perch,carp,buffalo, chicken breasts are better.

Howdy! That's were I jug. This week they were in 35 foot of water using fresh buffalo and carp cut bait. Shad and chicken also work. This is a pic of a 24 hour soak. We soaked then through the really high winds. Maybe it helped jig them. 83.91 lbs off 7 jugs and 35 hooks.

im going to second the chicken breast recommendation...its pretty much the only bait I use for blue cats, I catch plenty, and big ones! this time of year, a chunk of chicken breast on a circle hook under a drifting jug will get you some good ones! all the fish you can see here over the last two months were caught on free floating jugs with 7/0 hooks baited with chunks of chicken breast! https://www.facebook.com/RedWhiteAndBlueGuideService?ref=hl

Put some jugs in tonite at 20-25'. Baited with gold fish. Update tomorrow.
