How long does a minnow trap need to soak for? Also what to bait with?

I bait mine with bread and the soak time depends on the amount of fish in the area. I can soak one for 6-8 hours and have 40 bream because my pond has way too many.

Or you could use a cast net and get instant gratification

The advantage of a minnow trap is it can be used in places where a seine or cast net would get snagged. Anything bait that will put out a trail of tiny crumbs will work. I agree with TXmedic on the soak time.
