Leaving today for Sam Rayburn, y'all have any suggestions?
Glad to hear whatever y'all throw out there.
I'll be fishing close to the 147 bridge,
Thanks for any an all input
Have a great day!

There's plenty of grass around the 147 bridge, especially on the south side. You can spend all day on the Broaddus side of the lake. Drop your trolling motor at the rocks where the bridge ends and fish south towards the island. There's plenty of grass all in that area. Keep your eyes open because there is a boat lane that runs through there and people will buzz through there pretty good sometimes. Once you see someone do it you'll know where to stay away from. LOL

Thanks for the fast response, have a camp close to Harvey ramp.
That's mostly where I fish is that side, never tried real close to the bridge.
Seen a ton of boats fishing that area though. And yes, have seen a few fly
thru there. Didn't know about the boat lane, figured they was just nuts, lol
Was fishing the woods across from Harvey one day, close to mud creek,
could see stumps under the water about a ft deep, guy fishing close to me
stopped fishing an hammered down on his nice rig, still can't figure how he
missed all those submerged stumps lol

I see stuff like this once a month over there! A couple of months ago we watched a boat run out of Veach straight out to the main lake about 100 years to the north of the island. Growing up on Rayburn, I know what's in that area. You do NOT run it. There's not on plenty of timber through there, there is plenty of BIG timber there! Sometimes I think God watches after fools a little closer than others....that's have I've gotten as far as I have in life! rolfmao

We have been here for a week and are having 12 to 30 fish days
at first it was alot of dinks but the bigger fish are showing up...its been slow during the day on inside outside weedlines and we have been throwing carolina and texas rigged lizards in w/r. swim baits with white in them, rattle traps, senkos and all have produced somewhat.....the last two hours of the day have been outstanding shallow though....we have been targeting secondary point grass beds with christmas tree senkos and usually will catch the majority of the fish during that time. Stay till last light if you can. fish very shallow out to 8 feet or so as I think its key to have deeper water near by....2each 5 lbs, several 4's and then all the way down to dinks... have come literally just off the bank during those times....the last few sunny days have helped and look for water about 58 degrees or above. I think we were perhaps a week early for the bigger fish....they have to turn on soon and should be just a terrain feature back.

Good Luck

Do you know if the bass has moved in to the shallows yet?
I haven't been over there in a few weeks, with this crazy winter
weather, I just can't predict things anymore, lol
Maybe this full moon will jump start them, who knows!!

there are fish shallow now.....biggest we took was 5 lbs right off the bank....did it again several minutes later.....we are out now and the are shallow again...probably due to it being overcast and temps of 59 to 62 up shallow....no bigger ons so far though today....most of our big fish have come in the last hour of the day....we have fished outside weedlines but have not hit anything of size there.
