Ok boys! Cold as all get out and holding down a camper in 45mph winds was pretty tough. Not much sleep. We have caught so many crappie my thumbs are actually raw. Gonna try duct taping them tomorrow. Today no crappie fishing. Dropped jugs and brought back 83.91lbs of blue cats. 24 hrs on the soak and those waves had that cut bait jiggin all night! This spring break is going great. Tomorrow looks even better with low winds and 70 degrees. Crappie gonna die for sure! Thanks for keeping up with this report. I hope it helps. I know I am having a dadgum blast! When I return to civilization I'll put some pics up!

You had a spring break to remember! Both the good and the bad. smile

But a few years from now you will laugh at the memory of holding down the camper in 45 mph winds. smile

Today was a great day! Beautiful to boot. Mostly a work day on the slip and cleaning fish! Kept me busy. But I did catch 50 crappie in just about 3 hours of fishing. The afternoon bite is really starting up! I think they are about spawn! Caught a few LMB as well. I'm just about exhausted. Lol. But dang I do love fishin! Good luck to ya boys! Keep then coming.

The final day of my epic spring break fishing report is here.... Yesterday my brother came in to town and helped me set a personnal record. Weather was nice in the morning then monsoon rains fell. Crappie apparently like the rain! By noon we had knocked down 62 of them buggers. We cleaned 16 good ones and fried them right there on the dock!

Here is the lunch stringer!

After filling our bellies what else is there to do? Fish some more! Had the pleasure of meeting TA Mitch across the way! The rain started and we POUNDED THEM! Big ones! One after another. We decided we would stop at 100! But you guys know the crappie are the ultimate bosses. They would not touch the jig after the rain stopped. I mean the bite went dead. We were forced to stop at my personnal best day of 96 crappie. Good lord that was a spring break to remember. Thanks for checking in with me and reading my posts. I'll be back out this next weekend. Here a little fellow caught during

And a double for my bro!

Thanks guys! I'll be back this next week probably on Wednesday night. Through Saturday. This forum has been awesome to me. I found Thumpbuddies, shut up and fish and a number of new friends. To say I have been humbled is saying the least. I can't wait to see what the future holds. Last year at this time I was coaching 5A athletes and now I have learned to crappie fish and been pretty successful! I think I owe a big thank you to the forum. I almost forgot my guide Cody from BigCrappie.com. I have learned so much! Had they not shared information with me this spring break wouldn't have been too good. But because of this forum I had the time of my life.

Wow - this is some awesome fishing. I assume you caught all of them from the boat? I don't have a boat so was looking to see if there are any good bank fishing on Ray Roberts I can try for Crappie and Catfish? Also, what have you been using as bait for them if you don't mind sharing? Thank you and GREAT JOB.
