TTZ is hosting a striper tournament at Canyon Lake Sat the 22nd. For more information check out there website www.ttz1.com . If you have ever been to one of their bass tournaments then you know these guys like to have fun and put on a good show. Hopefully this is the first of many. Bustin' Loose will be there!!!

Is this the only striper tournament they are going to have? From what it looks like its mainly large mouth bass.

Yes we are running two events on the same day.

TTZ Striped Bass Tournament, 3/22/14 Canyon Lake
Here are the details for the TTZ Striped Bass Event at Canyon Lake on 3/22. We will have the full rules sheet and information at the event registration and Captain's meeting.

Boat ramp 18 will be open for TTZ on the day of this event. You can launch from any ramp as long as you are at the Captains Meeting by 6am.

Entry: $150, optional $25 big bass (100% payout for big bass)
Location: Canyon Park on Canyon Lake
Registration: You can register the night before at Baja BBQ Shack on Canyon Lake or the morning of the event starting at 5am.
Off Limits: There are no off limits for striped bass events
Teams: Will not exceed USCG vessel maximum occupancy limitations.
Captains Meeting: 6am Canyon Park, all boats subject to inspection. This will be a brief meeting then all boats can launch and get on their first spot.
First Cast: 7am
Check in: Must be in weigh-in line by 2pm
Scoring: Best 5 striped/hybrid striped bass weighed in pounds and hundredths of ounces, boats can have up to 10 bass in their possession if more than one licensed angler is aboard.
Culling: No culling of dead fish, all kept fish must be put on ice immediately. Any live fish can be culled right after it is caught, any fish that dies must be kept.
Fishing methods: Live bait and all other legal fishing methods for striped bass are allowed. All fish must be caught from a TTZ registered boat, during tournament hours only, no bank or dock fishing.
Polygraph: All teams are subject to a polygraph, a Polygraph Examiner will be present for this event. Any team failing a polygraph will be disqualified.
Payout: 1 place per 5 teams will be paid out.

Yes we are running both. The striped bass event has an earlier check in and weigh in. There is no staged launch for them either. Striped bass anglers will be heading to their spots around 6:10AM, with their first cast at 7AM. Our TTZ trail event, for largemouth bass anglers, will have a staged launch somewhere around 7AM. Weigh-in for striped bass anglers is at 2PM, and the TTZ trail event starts weigh-in at 3PM.

One more day until the fun starts, we will be at the Baja BBQ Shack on Canyon Lake tomorrow evening to take early registration. You can also register from 5am to 6am Saturday morning. Hope to meet some new anglers in the striped bass fishing community this weekend.
