I've been sinking more structure than fishing this winter. Stocked up on x-mas trees, used a bunch of down trees at our ranch and plenty of cinderblocks.

Here is some of our structure I built in years past, and some things I've learned through trial and error. (I may have posted some of this before but can't remember, sorry if I did)

The green things are x-mas tree stands upside down with concrete poured in them to weight em down. The other is a pvc contraption I made. It has concrete inside it and will have bamboo screwed into the white pvc in the middle. These worked great, and sank perfectly upright but definitely overkill on the amount of concrete needed. I could have gotten away with half of this.

Here are some bamboo condos I made, these things sink like they have a parachute attacked to the top of them. I also found out that you don't need 80 lbs of concrete for each one....lol

Put some work in on crappie condos as well, nearly sank the paddle boat but it's in the water now

This past trip I put out 14 x-mas trees, cinderblock on the base and down they went. Don't have any pics of them but they sank easily and should be good for next weeks fishing trip.

Also have worked with some natural brush, tree limbs that are between 10-15 feet long that we weighed down with cinderblocks, and other brush I have sank right at the bank. I will be sinking more trees next weekend after the fishing is over. To date, everything I've ever sank has produced fish (still waiting on the last round of x-mas trees but I'm confident).

Lol, its not secret, all on our ranch. I don't hide them too well since its only family fishing out there, plenty to go around.

I'm looking forward to it. Going to try and take more pictures this next go around, kind of turn this thread into a how-to.

Are you looking to adopt anyone? I'm sure you will get a lot of volunteers after seeing those pictures. smile

This is the pic that pulls volunteers....75 bass in 3 hours (not a single over 1 lb), all the time fishing for crappie smile Best weekend we caught 127 bass in 2 days....

As a newb to this condo thing, thanks for posting! Gives me some ideas I would have never thought of.....Christmas tree stands and cardboard, I will be trying those. I like the bamboo idea too. I bet they work great for you!

I didn't post a picture but the cinderblocks turned on their side with concrete poured in with bamboo stuck in it was way better than the cardboard boxes. Look at the brush in the cinderblocks, same thing just with bamboo.

Dude, you have no idea. A paddle that usually takes 5 minutes took nearly a half hour. Those things act like sails and we were barely able to get them out in the water.
