Went out to Riverside on 3/10/14 to do some WB fishing. Day started out with a fog thick as pea soup. As I am a kayak fisherman; I didn't want to launch due to previous encounters with boaters, so I spoke with a few fishermen out there and I was recommended to launch out of Bells Marina a few miles North from the Hwy 19 bridge. Fishing started out slow but it picked up as the morning progressed. I fished from 8am till 3pm. I could have had my limit before noon but I was culling the fish. Also, since I drove 3.5 hrs, I didn't want to leave early. For the most part I have to say that about 2/3 of the boaters out there were pretty decent in their speed while passing me but I had a few that gave me a good rocking. Used only two lures all day; a silver shad diver and a chartreuse Georges. Changed between both when one was not getting hits.

Thank you all for the compliments. I did have a great day overall. Now I am looking forward to some great fish sandwiches.

Nice ones!!! I bet the ramp on 19 was full to the gills with vehicles...

Harmon Creek Marina is a few miles South of Riverside and is a good place to put in. I wanted to go there tomorrow after work but they shut the gate at 5pm so that's out. Do they have a gate at Bells? If so, I'll just use the public ramp on 19 and paddle to Harmon Creek.

They do not have a gate at Bell's. Their is a $5 honors fee for launching your boat. Drop off is at the front door through a slot. Have fun!
