Heres a couple of me when I was growing up.... Rocky Moutnain National Park:WInding River Campground: rainbow trout. Think I was around 9 yrs old. Told my mom I was goin fishing came back a couple hours later with this> Later in life: I was 16. Heres one of the smaller of the "big ones" in the neighbors ponds in Weatherford. Caught and released a couple 10 pounders quite a few times. This was one of the 6-7 lbers that was the "norm". Spinnerbait fish.

The first picture is from 1982......nice sunglasses. The second one is in about 1975 at a stock pond back home in south Texas. Those were the days huh?

Excellent, I just choked on my lunch laughing at those pics, should be a new topic "Pre-1985 Fishing Pics". I don't know how I could get them on the forum? We used some real basic gear back then, and I am surprised the fish were not scared off by our wordrobes!! Cool pics man, reminds me good times when things seemed to move slower and care free. Gotta get back to work so I can pay the mortgage....

I guess I will ask my mom down in Fairfield if she has any of our pictures left. Their house burned down back in 1992 when they lived in Porter, Texas. I hope she was able to salvage some of those old pictures. This is a great thread! Send more pics!!

Here's another pic of the same bass. He had the old alluminum v-bottom strapped to the roof of his van. I may be an okie (born and raised), but notice the Texas belt buckle my Dad is sporting. I still have lots of family down there and love to fish for those big Texas-sized bass.
My rod and my reel, they comfort me.
