Water level low, Rebecca creek ramp is still closed. I would start at lake and troll up river, Jan and Feb good for a striper or two in your daily bag. If you catch one i recommend turning around and give it another pass, figure eight. good luck

An old friend of mine who used to live at the lake use to say when the bluebonnets are blooming, the white bass are running up river at Canyon Lake.I have found this to be quite accurate.

Actually it's when the peach trees get those pink buds on them!
Note the peach tree in the backround. Never failed me yet!

You can find them at the mouth up 2-3 miles. Troll with Rattle traps and Roadrunners and you can find a few, still not quite there, maybe 2 weeks away?

How deep are you trolling the rattle traps?

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

So how so you troll with rattle traps and roadrunners? Do you let them sink to a certain depth and then start the motor to troll? I only did it with cranks which makes it really easy since they automatically go to a certain depth.

Had good luck this weekend about 3 to 4 miles up river trolling live large minnows. We caught 34 keepers.

Rebecca Creek Boat ramp is actually 6 or 7 miles upriver. I have some friends that have been having successful vertically jigging Kt Spoons at the mouth and also trolling large minnows upriver.
