Any body enjoy fishing nights with a good moon?
If so, what baits y'all like to throw?
There's nothing better than hearing a bass blow up on a frog while fishing around
or in hydrilla or Lilly pads.
I don't fish nights as much any more, but strongly thinking about trying it this weekend.
What do y'all guys think?

Would help if the night temps would start creepin' up a bit but always worth trying.

Does color even matter at night?

Black jitterbug but not sure if it's warm enough yet.

You'll probably get varying answers. . .I don't think it matters much, I try to use darker baits that will create a more definite silhouette. That said, I think vibration and noise are more important at night.

Its not the nights you need to be fishing this full moon. You might see a few getting ready to do their thing by Sunday

Hey Mark, you thinking the day fishing would be better than nights?
And yes, that jitter bug is awesome at nights too!

Colors are overrated at night, especially when fishing top waters at night on a full moon. The shadow or silhouette that everyone talks about that a fish sees on the surface is caused by the bait blocking out whatever light is available on the surface(moon...). A white bait casts the same shadow or blocks out the light on the surface as a black bait...think about it! Colors matter more with subsurface baits especially bottom baits like soft plastics in which the available light is actually "shining" or illuminating the bait. Back to your original post: too early to concentrate on a night topwater bite(for me). As Mark stated: look for the full moon to start the spawn season and fish accordingly...if the weather cooperates!

Too early for top water fishing, water temps not at 60+ just yet, and the temps need to be at 60+ for more than 5 days in a row then you will see a big wave of fish move shallow. I believe we are a month behind so early April will be the best night fishing on the next fool moon.

Not to stir or anything, but my dad caught a 9+ yesterday on a weightless swimbait reeled right below the surface. He also got a couple blow ups on a frog. Caught 13 fish all in less than 3ft. Water temp was 57-59 on an east tx lake. This full moon is going to get the big girls shallow fast.

Well guys, I'm gonna get out there super early sat morning, if nothing happens before
sun up, I'll be there to fish a while in the morning.
This has been a crazy winter for Texas, hard to tell what the fish will be doing.
I'm sure there just as confused as we are, lol
Thanks for all the input guys
Only thing I'll waste is a little time, and being outdoors, it's not a waste at all
