Never see any Talon demonstrations like this... You Tube Power Pole demo

Just my 2 cents...From a Quality perspective. Talons have way too many moving parts, clamps, bolts, connections, etc for me to be convinced to buy one over a Power Pole.

RangerBob, I know differently.

With all due respect, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Power Pole makes a great product and you can't go wrong with them. The new Talons are much improved and I'd highly recommend them to anyone in the market.

Everyone has their own opinion, but most people have not owned both Power poles and talons. I had a power pole on my last boat, now I have Talons. With the Power Poles I had a hydraulic oil line break inside the hull and it was a huge mess. I never did get all the oil out of the bottom of the boat. If you don't have a battery disconnect switch they will drain your battery. Also I had to replace the bushings on the arms because the poles would flop around and shake so much on the road, I thought they would fall off. The repairman told me that was common to replace these bushings on the poles. The new brackets on the Talon are rock solid and they do not move at all. I have owned both, and for me its Talons hands down, no pumps, no oil, ease of install, no arm bushings, and they perform perfect. Just my opinion

As long as you remember to utilize the tilt bracket they work great. I tore the (;$;"(& out of my Talon and tilt bracket. Garage 1 Talon 0.

Oh, it did give a good fight considering the garage door was hanging by the hinges. But the garage still won.

Yes. If Power Poles came in 12' they would also be expensive. I'm not sure where you're shopping but the Talons and Power Poles are comparable in price and you can not beat the new Talon brackets for rugged design and adjustability.

If your Power pole is down and you have an electrical problem or break an oil line can you raise it?

We found the mythical oil leak person. I'm glad we finally nailed someone down with an oil leak. I thought it was an internet myth.

I've seen more than one praying mantis leg tied up so it wouldn't drop back down...

Angler neglect and abuse can pretty much destroy anything on a boat be it Power Pole or Talon, Humminbird or Lowrance, Mercury or Yamaha. Same old arguments every time. Mine's better, mine's faster, mine's sturdier...whatever. Run with your Power Poles in the down position long enough and you'll over pressure the lines and get your leak but you can certainly abuse them that way if that's what makes one happy. Take some anchor line to tie them up when they fail. They're not designed for deployment while running and neither are Talons.

Here's a rugged boat...if abuse is the measurement.
