Now hillbgcntry, you know there is only one 1st Cav right? They were the original mounted Calvary out of Ft Bliss, Texas. The division was activated in 1921. Today, the division consists of over 16k soldiers. Thanks to everyone who put their life on the line so the all Americans can enjoy this freedom that we have!
First Team!

Justin...lol. Nothing wrong with a little unit Pride.lol. I'm kinda partial to ol 1st Cav as both of my favorite CSM's went there . CSM Ciotola (division) and CSM Sparks. but yes we are great to have such an enormous fighting machine as ACR's and Cav div's. It never struck me how big all of it was until we did a Cal-Fax on line as a squadron with the engineer's cranking it off with a mig lig to start the fire show. I looked up outta my turret and all i could see was brad's and abram's and apaches as far as a i could see left or right. It was then that I realized I was apart of somehting special and oh so powerful. I miss the armor days but being dismounted now has it up's too, not many but there are a few.I would trade it all to be back in Crazyhorse 1st Squadron 3rd Acr a be on my ol track. I even saw my ol brad heading up north when we were in country doing a convoy up north. Small world. C32 baby. Ah.. enough...back to reality.. going to ALaska in 48 hrs for some fishing..first time. I'll post pics when I get back. take care Justin and if your ever down this way..we need to hook up and wet a line for some kitties or specs/reds!

I remember CSM Sparks! I was on the 1st Cav Honor Guard for a while, and I remember meeting him. I do remember the many late nights in the field with the Cav, and I certainly know what you are talking about when you say you could see armor and choppers as far as you could see. You should hear what the barracks sound like when gunnery is going on at Ft Hood. It is non-stop firing, and the barrack's walls are not very thick. lol. The good ole' days! I wouldnt trade em for anything. I will hit you up next time I am headed to the hill country, as my Dad lives on Canyon Lake. We will definitely have to wet a line. I am headed down to the coast this weekend to do a lil fishing for my birthday. Wish me luck; I need it after my last few trips!
Good luck in Alaska, I look forward to seeing your pics!

I was in the 5/17th Cav in Korea. It was my 1st Cav unit and it was a different world. Loved the Cav.

What years did you know a CSM Sparks? And or do you know what his first name was? I know of one that passed away last year.

Hey bradyboy. I was in the First Cav from 98-01, and served as the NCOIC of the First Cav Honor Guard from 00-01. That is the time period when I would have known CSM Sparks.
The CSM Sparks that I am speaking of was a Brigade CSM,(3rd) maybe? He was a white guy, clean cut, and looked pretty young. It has been a while since I was in, so I have a hard time remembering some things.
I will take a look at some of the coins I have, and see if I cant pull one out with his name on it. I see that you are in Killeen. Are you still in?
The Division CSM at the time was CSM Inmon. I think he became the III Corps CSM after the Cav.

Justin we are talking about 2 different people. The one I am talking about retired in 1980. He is a family member. I was not in the service but I worked on Ft. Hood for the past 8 years on the weekends.

I'm talking with a couple of people about an Airforce one so expect pictures of one of those soon. I should have several more pictures soon. Someone also asked about a camoflauge one Its only a matter of time before the Cops and Firemen realize they want one too lol.
