I'm looking for everyone's opinion here. My brother and I have been fishing Fork since early 2000 and Falcon for the last 4 years. With wives, kids, school and sports and that I had to move to PA, we only get to take one trip together per year. I love Fork and Falcon, but I would like to try some place new. We fish for big fish, not numbers. With that in mind, if you could only take one trip per year, where would you go and why. I'm thinking Okeechobee or peacock bass in Florida? Can't afford Amazon peacock.
BTW, if you think the winter in Texas stinks, come visit me. I haven't seen my grass since Thanksgiving. I hate snow and I don't like to ice fish.

With me to Lake Oviachic, Mexico. No other trip will beat the price and numbers of Big Bass.

I would love to fish Lake St. Clair up by Detroit for those smallmouth. I know 5 pounds isn't a big fish but relative to most smallmouth it is.

Fouz and Bissett, St. Clair has been on my list. The problem is we are both self employed and with my brothers concrete business, its very hard for him to get away when the smallmouth bite is really on. That's why we take early year trips to warm places.

I would have to say Lake O The Pines in March. Big fish and lots of them. And Lake Palestine is just up the road.

I'd try a TVA lake. Summer time ledge fishing is hard to beat. Plus you'll have mile long grass mats too.

Because of your time schedule you might fish Big O in Feb/March with the guide that has the biggest badest wild shiners. Unless you dont roll that way... then fish the artificial stuff thats working.
Clearlake can be good in Feb but temps can get you... safer bet there is March/April and hook up with Guide and great person Ross England. Then get your game face on to launch some big swimbaits for a few days!

Saw on In-Fisherman last week they were throwing shiners right up against the grass and the bass were pulling the bobber right back under the mats. Looked awesome! Did see Scott Martin still guides on O. Not sure they will let me in California with all the anti liberal stuff I spout, but I would love to fish Clear Lake. Had really not thought about going that far West, not sure why.

Have to be Toledo Bend, Guntersville or Lake Fork. Guntersville and Fork will have a lot of pressure that won't let up. Toledo Bend may be your best bet...
