Hey James.....pretty amazing how you can put those frozen males in some warm water this time of year and they darken right up!!!! Good luck on Fork!!!!

somebody forgot to tell that crappie the water temp isnt 68 degrees something yet. im sure it was a fluke.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

the black females yesterday we ketched were dripping eggs so I think yes it is close and even on in places for them the one male black was pretty dark as well and no white crappie males were present deep only girls were home them white crappie male and black crappie male fish were somewhere so I think your fish says YES ....VERY Close

That fish was a silver/white as all get out. Put those males in a bucket of water in the sun on the cement and as soon as the water warms up.....they get dark. Works every time this time of year! That way I can get good pictures of spawn colors.

That fish was a silver/white as all get out. Put those males in a bucket of water in the sun on the cement and as soon as the water warms up.....they get dark. Works every time this time of year! That way I can get good pictures of spawn colors. Nice!

noticed that on one of larger black crappie sittin one ice as well got dark enough to tell it wasn't a girl fish rite quick interesting that warmth did it on the white wonder if maybe stress plays into it ? I saw some pretty dark fish (whites) get coal black on ice last year ? interesting for sure very good quality photos brother love the HD detail

ive caught them during spawn and put them in the same temp water in the livewell as whats in the lake and they darkened up. you nailed it Ketchin. ketchin what was the water temp where you found them dribbling eggs out?

Happened to the males we caught at fork till they sat in live well for a few hours they were not dark.
