That is the question? Outback is used but over $1000 less. And has some addon's already done. Used mostly for lakes. But also some local ponds, creeks.

I'm a BIiguy at 5'10" and 260 lbs.

if it was me id buy the hobie if its in decent shape, use the extra saved cash to deck it out with the stuff i want/need, casue with the 2400$ slayer probly most people wont have much left to add the addons you will want till your bank account or wife recover from the big hit. both are awesome though id love to have either i feel you cant go wrong either way.

I was experiencing the same quandary about two years ago, outback or native mariner. I went with the outback and I love it. It came down to how sturdy the pedal drive was for me. Hit a stump with a mirage drive and you may have to bend the stainless steel rod back straight (I've done is several times). Hit a stump too hard with a propel drive and you'll be paddling until you replace plastic clips. One of the yak forums had a story about a guy who took out his propel drive and broke the clips within the first 10 minutes when he hit a submerged stump.

Whats the weight capacity on the Outback? That's waht i be more worried about. Im 6'3" 245 so I have to keep my eye out on weight capapcity as well.

I'm 6'4" 240 on a good day...my Outback is stable as hell. Even had a rookie Warden gas his dual 75s right next to me while I was anchored in brush...still no problema. Big waves at coast, no problem. I think the capacity is 340? Not %100 on that...but definately in the 300s. Never been in a Propel, but I can't be happier with my Outback!

I'm 6'1" and was 240 when I started last fall. The outback has always been plenty stable for me.

Fish eat things. I'll put things in the water that fish like to eat. I'll attach these things to a hook, line, rod, and reel. How hard can this be?

$2400 is not the cost of the Slayer Propel. Call Mariner Sails to get the price.
Not many people have been in the Slayer Propel yet. So there might not be a lot of fees back on it yet. I been able to get out in it a couple times and absolutely love it . Enough so that it will be my next kayak. Reverse is a total game changer!
The best thing to do is to demo the two. The Outback is a great kayak I use to have and enjoy. If you want to stand to fish I would point you towards the Slayer Propel. Both are plenty stable for me at 6-2&230lbs.
Still, I would say to demo them both first.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
