It was freaking awesome, I fished in a short sleeved shirt and left them biting.
Cedar Creek is pretty hard to miss on sand bass now. I talked to Jim Legrande and 3 guys caught and released 124 sand bass. He stayed in the Long Ridge area and fished from 18' to 23' and fished a slab as close to the bottom as you can. I noticed he had several spectators observing his work.
I fished in water from 39' to 43' deep and used the trusty thumper to keep fish nearby, I didn't count the fish I caught and released, i was too busy to fish with two rigs however. Some fish hit it pretty hard and some just swam up and lipped the bait, Snaggin' Steve enjoyed his usual 2 hour lunch break and fished nearby.
I was using a slab from Moes on the bottom, SSS seemed to work best but a Peekwi Chieftan slab that fell a little slower worked as well. I had the clip above the slab and used a 3" glow in the dark sassy shad and a 2" blue and glow crappie fluke on the other.
I re-tied both slabs one fish too late.
Most of my fish were caught 4.5-5.5 turns up from the bottom
The water is clear and 53° or a little warmer, I think once it hits 60° the fish will move.
