Few questions before I head up Thursday with my boy. A lot of guides offer lunch stops at restaruants on the lake, what places can I dock my boat and grab something to eat? Will my gear be safe if the boat is out of sight? Im sure my son will need a break during the day. Also, anyone aware of bike paths or hiking trails nearby? We do a lot of mountain biking and would love to hit a trail in the late afternoon after fishing. Thanks for the help and wish us luck! Jim

http://mineolanaturepreserve.com/about-the-preserve.htmlThis is a great place to visit! It's on HWY 69 S just south of Loop 564. Oakridge, Minnow Buckett and Lake Fork Marina all have lakeside parking and good restaurants just a short walk away. That said, no, I would not leave my gear unattended in my boat, unless I could see it from the restaurant. Oakridge is best for this.

We stop at LFM pretty often when I go out to Fork. They have boat stalls that are probably 250 yards from the restaurant. Never heard of anything getting stolen from there, but I always lock up the gear and take the keys with me when we tie up for lunch.

Oak Ridge has a good, air conditioned restaurant just a short walk from the water. They built a big dock near the boat ramp. Guide we've fished with a couple of times leaves his boat there all the time for lunch.
I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

I have eaten at Oak Ridge numerous times while on the water. You can see your boat from the restaurant while you're eating. The food is excellent, too.

This, better food at oak ridge and you can see your boat from your table. If you do Tiffany's I would lock everything up to be safe or load it and drive it up by the store.
