from what I can tell the word "Mojarra" in Mexico covers a lot of fish that look somewhat similar to our sunfish and crappie ..... Mexican panfish basically .... I don't think they actually have any crappie in most parts of Mexico they bake or grill them whole with slices cut into them diagonally

interesting ..... yawl got some bad boys down there from the vids I have seen in the past .... I think they are in the Tetra family .... bull dog looking fighting jumping tough characters .... ketch one and post us a video ... KABOOM
