I spent all day out there yesterday. Bite was good- caught a ton of bass in the 12-16 inch range and lots of perch. Also lost a 2 pounder near the boat (I hate the hooks on gitzit swimbaits) and I also lost a really nice 4-6 pounder near the boat. I took a few bass that I gut hooked, a few bream and a couple catfish.

Fish fry!

foot long shellcracker- he was really girthy and full of food, weighed about 2 pounds.
Dead redfish in Dunlap. This lake never ceases to amaze me. How a redfish got in here is beyond me. Maybe someone caught him on the coast, brought him home to fillet him and he fell off the fillet table and into the water.

Im sure someone fishing braunig or calaveras put the red in there thinking it would survive because it was in fresh water fish from the lake, but they needs warm water to keep kicking

Nice fish "Balazs"! Those will fry up super good! thumb

Side Note: As for the Red someone put it in the lake just like the previous poster stated! eeks Chances are it came from Cally or Braunig. hmmm

About two months ago me and riverdogbone were out there. Something hit the boat chasing shad and came up again. We swore it was a red but were afraid to tell anyone because we knew they would laugh. Well at least we know now it was a red!

Firstly, I appreciate you guys taking the time to comment. I forgot to mention, one of the bass, one of the smaller redears, and one of the catfish had caviar. Also, y'all are right about those reds being from Calaveras. I didn't realize Calaveras and Braunig are less than an hour from New Braunfels.
bacosta- How good of a look did you get? At first I thought it was a freshwater drum because i thought it couldn't be a redfish, but then I flipped it over with my line and saw the dot and its profile.
steven168- it might just be the biggest i've seen. Its funny that the biggest fish on my stringer is a redear, considering there are catfish and keeper bass there too.
