Headed to Port Aransas next week for our annual Spring Break trip and was wondering what's going on? I killed the Black Drum a few years ago and would love to do it again!!! What about the trout and Bull Reds is this a good time to target them?

I realize I'm only down here in the Salty Section once a year but I always appreciate your help!!!! thumb

I'd focus on the Drum unless there is a warm up that week. That said, those that know how to target big trout have had a great winter already with lots of big fish being caught.

Don't discount hunting down some reds, ... redfish action is picking up - they'll hit lures as well as bait !!!

Both red and black drum should be hitting right now, try using some shrimp, crab and whatever bait you can catch in the surf.

The jetties in Port A should be a good place to start.

Don't let the good door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

Anyone catching anything. I'm going down to port A on Thursday and any pointers would be helpful.
