I have three boxes full of craws. I have 3 boxes full of jigs and have never caught a fish on one. It's a MLM scheme first you buy the jigs and then they tell you you need trailers!

I love the LFT hyper freaks, that tail displaces a lot of water on the fall and really helps to slow down the fall rate. Paca craws are great too that hollow body really helps it stand up in the defensive position.

Not a simple question.
You can do a lot with the shape or profile of a jig/trailer combination. Doug Stange did a great show i saw recently. He suggested 2 types of trailers, a small trailer w small flexible legs and a bigger bulkier trailer with heavier legs or flappers;
1. Small profile trailer with light very flexible swimming legs. Like a 1/4 finesse jig with a twin tailed grub trailer. Great for under 6 ft a water, rip rap, docks,, weeds etc, the little chunk type trailers are great here too.
2. Then later in the year and deeper as the forage has grown,you might look at a big bulky 1/2 or 3/4oz jig like a hack attack style or football jig and for a trailer, something with more bulk and bigger and heavier swimming legs like the paca craw or rage tail or one my favorites a LFT tube craw.
3. Then there are special situations like punchin where you want a very heavy 1 oz jig but less bulk in the jig and the trailer so it gets thru the canopy. (beaver!)
4. Use left over pieces of swim baits or flukes like where the heads all messed up from a t-rig, but the tails still good. Great for swimming the jigs or the bladed jig or add a spinner blade to your jig too!
I mean really, why fish any other bait or lure if you already have these jigs tied on?
