I drive a chevy HHR , you can look on you tube and see a lot of different loading devices made from PVC. I also have an Acend fs 128t, I have tried several different methods but the easiest that I have found is the cheapest, a $29 carry rack that I got at Walmart and a piece of carpet big enough to cover the rear hatch and I attach it to the luggage rack. The yak slides very easily no problem. Very cheap very easy, hope this helps.

Congrats on your yak! She will get scratched on the bottom. I tried really hard not to scratch my yak up when I first got it but it seemed like the harder I tried the more scratches I got. Depending on where you fish you will realize sometimes you have to drag your yak especially now with the low lake levels and so many boat ramp closures. Enjoy her and as long as your not leaking water you will be fine. Happy Fishing!

Normal wear and tear won't hurt a kayak. Normal is pulling up on shore and scraping bottom on gravel and sand and rocks now and then. What you don't want is to do is drag a kayak with most of the kayaks weight resting and dragging on one concentrated area such as the keel. scraping the keel along pavement while trying to pick up the front of the kayak and dragging it will wear down the plastic and lead to a hole or leak. Most newer kayaks have keel guards but a lot of the less expensive ones do not. You can take some soft tupperware type plastic and cut an 8" strip 1" wide, that covers the rear keel, and then using some strong duct tape (gorilla tape) and tape on the home made keel protector. I've done this before and it holds up well for several trips and all you do is replace the duct tape and you don't worry about it wearing down. It might not look pretty to some people, but at least I won't be patching or trying to sell a leaking kayak! The carpet idea works well! Anther trick I use to keep the kayak from getting away from me while I'm picking up the front lifting it to the roof is to tie off a cord to the rear of the kayak and then the other end attached to my bumper hitch ball. Measure the rope length needed with the bow on the roof and the keel on the ground. This keeps my kayak from the keel trying to slide back getting away from me while I'm lifting it. Makes it go a lot easier and keeps you from entertaining the bystanders watching you stuggle to load the kayak.

I made one similar to that first one in the link, with those suction cups that are used to install windshields. They are pretty cheap and the 1" pvc and a couple lawn mower wheels are cheap as well. It works like a charm with my WS135. http://www.texaskayakfisherman.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=103508
