It's a never ending trend around here. http://waterdatafortexas.org/reservoirs/individual/benbrookAs you can see it dropped almost a foot in the last month. They had quit pumping "in" for a bit, as previously stated looks like the started again. The problem is with chambers and cedar creek getting low also, the only pump sometimes now. But keeping pulling out daily.

When I return. To Berryville, I will send you the latest that I have on the pipeline. Palestine will be the last on the line, approx 2025 to start pumping. The forum I attended has the map and dates for each pump station. Trust it will answer your questions, if not there is a location to contact with any questions.
Good fishing

shadrap, sorry to be so slow getting you the info on the pipeline that being build to pump water into Ben Brook. http://www.iplproject.com/This is the web site that shows the entire project and timeline. A community organization here around Lake Palestine invited this group with engineers, project managers and others to define the project. Here on Lake Palestine we have heard rumors that" Dallas can pump the lake down to the river bed".... not so.... this site will define all questions and if you have more there is a contact point. Trust this site will answer your questions...... Hope ya catch a bunch of slabs.. crappiepete/roy

Checked the site. I guess we had better enjoy the near full levels of Joe Pool while they still exist. In a few more years we will all be sharing the pain of low water levels to meet the growing population needs.
I hope those with the power to do so are working on long range plans to combat this problem. Moving water from other lakes is a short term solution to a long term problem.

The past water levels since 2006 dangerously coincided with the Barnett Shale project not a sudden boom in population..............

They'e robbing Peter to pay Paul,, and it will be that a way for a long time. Only one new lake is on the drawing board and it will be at least 40 years off. And even if they could build new lakes this year, there's not enough rain runoff to fill them.

What is Tyler gonna do when Dallas starts pumping out of Palestine?
Tyler needs to be the majority investor and get the lake built east of Jacksonville. Lay a pipe not even 20 miles and keep Tyler full.

You guys brought to mind a question.....how much runoff or drainage do the lakes in east Texas have.
I saw a map in 2006 that showed that data for Lake Palestne, so I am again researching. Have contacted a Director of a division of Texas Water. I will publish the results. I recall that L Palestine had more runoff or drainage than most Lakes n this area.
More later... Dallas will get water, but not destroy our fishing wit their draw. Lack of rain will.

Palestine drainage is huge. Rain that falls around Clarkson Elementary on the far SE side of Tyler and the hospital district makes its way to Palestine.
Drainage for the new lake E of Jacksonville would be probably 20-40 times larger than that of Tyler. All the water that falls from Green Acres over to the TISD Administration flows south and would keep the lake full.

Roachie, are you talking about Lake Columbia? If so, how far out is the start of construction. I was on the board of a rural water supply that bought into it many years ago. We dropped our participation for lack of progress. That lake has been on the drawing board for at least 20+ years. It would be a blessing to see some progress on it.
All lakes in Texas must have a large drainage area if they are to stay full. Lake Palestine drains land all the way up North to Van. And it's full.
