I've always used Strike Kings. They actually have a pretty nice lineup now and their amber shades are awesome. I whine a lot less when I lose them, as well.

For $100 or less i would get a pair of glass lens magellans from academy with amber lens. It also has a slight green mirror finish and works great for sight fishing on a budget. When you do decide to step up to a top end pair. Go with costas with 580 glass and/or kaenon with sr91 material. Best 2 on the market

Pm me your address, I will give you a pair of my old Costas:) they are a lil worn but still work great. I've been wearing Costas since the 90's, I won't wear anything else.

Costa 580G. Worth every penny. I'll never wear another brand of sunglasses.

I have had my Costas for 6 years and am on my fourth set of frames. The rubber around the nose piece keeps deteriorating. The lady with customer service said there isn't a material that is soft enough to be comfortable and can withstand the acidity of sweat and sunscreen. I would not expect them to replace my frames if I "broke" them, they are made of plastic.

I lost a pair of Costa 580's a month ago. So I am in the market for a new pair of glasses. I have heard great things about Smith Optics. Moreover, it appears LL Bean has a lifetime guarantee policy. Coupled with Smith Optics it seems like a good value.

Have you tried these on the water?

Hank Parker Mustad sunglasses are the best I've tried from Wmart (I've also tried the Jimmy Houston and Strike Kings) I also liked the Strike Kings, but the Hank Parker/Mustad are a little better for the same price.

I have the A03 model below

I have had my Costa Gatun 580 G's for 3 years now. They are as clear as the day I put them on. Try to get a pair of polymer lenses of any make to last that long without scratching. They are expensive...but they are worth every penny. If you can't afford Costas just make sure you get amber lenses. Overall they are the most versatile for fishing.

Seems this discussion is on here every week around the spawn times. Think of it this way...buy a Shimano Caius is really smooth out of the box...but a Chronarch will be smooth for the next 10 years.....You get what you pay for!

Even took them along with a pair of costa 580g in the boat one day and I couldn't personally tell a difference in clarity.

I agree with you. I've worn just about every popular pair of sunglasses there are and in multiples. For the price nothing comes close to Strike King S 11's.

Give the Solar Bats a try.
If they are too expensive, then take a look at the Strike King higher end glasses. S11.

Costa 580 glass are the best. The problem with Costa's is the don't make frames for large, round heads. I know cause my cap size is 7 1/2. I own a pair of Costa Zane's.

As a reference, I also own Maui Jim's, and amphibias. Amphibia "genesis" fit my head great (polarized and the float )
