I lag bolted two 2x4's to the wall studs. I considered building a rolling rack but it would have taken more room for the under bracing.

I have the same set up but minus the pvc, is that something I should definitely do or is just something you liked? I assume it gives it better support and keeps the middle of the kayaks from sagging?

I used the PVC because last year I hung the Tuna from home made J racks and the heat caused intentions in the hull. I think the PVC will provide better support because it supports the yaks along the entire length of the hull.

The Quest did alright. The Tuna is a big heavy yak. I think it just depends on the yaks size and weight. The longer and heavier the yak, the more longitudinal support it needs.
