Really good people are harder to find these days. Randy Howell and his family are prime examples of what family really means. I have participated in the Kings Home/Randy Howell boat giveaway since its inception and will continue to do so. Do I expect to win, no. Being a small part of the success of King's Home makes it worthwhile though.

While I admire the gentleman's fishing skills and appreciate his relating his experiences...frankly...I really have to roll my eyes at his crediting some sort of "devine intervention" for him simply changing his mind and deciding to fish somewhere else. it's fine to be proud of it, but...keep it to yourself, and don't wave it around in public.

As a Christian and the winner of the world's most prestigious fishing event he had the right and the privilege to share his thoughts. Also as a Christian we (or him) are not to be ashamed of our God AND supposed to give Him glory (all that is in the Bible). I look at Howell's speech as doing these things. One more thing on the inclination to "change his mind" ... the Bible says that the Lord speaks to His followers and they HEAR his small and still voice and that HE enriches our endeavors.
I appreciate his boldness! Great CHAMPION ! He ain't Ike, that's for sure!

Religion is just like a p****....it's fine to have one, it's fine to be proud of it, but...keep it to yourself, and don't wave it around in public. So he's not justified in voicing his thoughts on his religion, but you're justified in voicing your opinion about his thoughts on his religion?

I'd rather a man credit "God" or some "Divine Intervention" for his success than break his arm patting his own back like like an egomaniac. It's refreshing to see such humility. I'm a fan.

Debate the religion in PMs if you want but lets not derail a good post. Let the thread stay on track and please do not get personal with one another over it.

Sorry Mark.
Glad to see him win it. Very cool story coming back from 11th place to overtake several of the sport's biggest stars on the biggest stage. Seems like a very nice guy and a worthy champ.

Randy Howell is a big surprise winner to me, I think his wife is fabulous, traveling with Randy while homeschooling the kids. What a great healthy way to grow the family. I hope those kids like to fish and aren't burnt out on the whole thing.
