Nacogdoches county commissioners control what goes on, on this lake. They even pay a gate guard to make sure you follow their rules. Charge you $5 to launch a boat and an extra $1 for each passenger in the boat.
If I get back before I return, Please ask me to wait.

usually helps to get your information straight. some people don't want to drive 3-1/2 hours to just fish one day. what has too new got to do with it??? they have already caught a 12+ out of it! they weren't having a fish fry after weigh in!!!
I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!!

I love how quickly people jump to conclusions and start throwing around the "Stupid" label without having any facts.
That lake is well protected and under excellent care. there is only one access point and they limit to 24 boats on the water. to get a permit from nac county you have to interview with the gate manager (Bill Plunkett who is a SUPER guy) to go over all the rules and understand how they are trying to manage the lake. Bill also asks a ton of questions to make sure there won't be any problems. Based on that interview Bill makes a recommendation to the commissioner as to whether or not to sign the permit. Ultimately it is up to the commissioner.
So we did our homework, had it approved and worked out appropriately, only brought 12 boats. All fish were brought in alive and all swam away from the ramp - no strugglers or floaters remained behind. There actually were very few fish weighed with the 18" minimum.
Its easy to sit back on a Friday evening and judge and call people stupid - here's the facts. we did everything between the lines and we did everything we could to have a fun tournament and preserve the resource. If that is stupid I guess we're guilty.
