Fayette report from Saturday. Oak Thicket parking lot was almost full. Got there at around 8 and could not get to my best spots as they were already covered up with boats. Spent most of the morning flipping every tree I could find with zero bites. Went back to try my original plan late morning and almost every boat was gone. Seemed like everyone I saw was either chunking spinnerbaits using darned water dogs. Kept switching things up and finally got on a decent pattern using weightless senko, watermelon red, in trees. Had to really slow down. Ended up with 12 plus a few that got away. Nothing really big, but better than I have been doing. Fish from bank to 10'.

We managed only 5 with 4 in the boat and 1 close enough to count. Four were on spinners over some grass and one on a DT-6 near the rocks. We got hits on Senkos but couldn't set on any. Next time we may try a slower approach. Sure wish that wind would die down some.

Was there yesterday before the front hit. The early bite was great but seemed to slow the closer it got to noon. Caught quite a few on traps and square bills worked slowly in 4-8'. Got a few deep but nothing like I am used to. Still a satisfactory day fishing though.
