I fished it Saturday- no luck. Need a good stretch of warm weather and some rain for it to get good. Last year around Easter it was great

Went today just to see the water level and its not as good as last year I can see that some sand bass could be in it.
What I don't know is at the mouth of the lake has water or not.

Wow, almost zero flow...!!! I guess the key will be some increased flow and no blockages of the creek into Lake Lewisville.

I also hear that on Grapevine into Denton/Marshall Creek, there is a sand bar blocking the entrance to the Creek...ugh. I have yet to go out there to Trophy Club and look at that situation.

This weekend will warm, so maybe there will be some action into next week?

Before you waste too many trips here, put on some good hiking boots and pack a lunch. Walk from 380 down the creek to the lake. I'll bet a six-pack that you'll see what I saw this time last year. Where the creek connects to the lake it is so shallow that no fish could possibly make it into the creek from LL. Imagine running your garden hose over your driveway. It was about that shallow and the creek was a good two-feet higher than the lake. On the upside, if you are into fly-fishing for carp, right before it reaches the lake the creek turned into a 1-1.5ft deep pond where tons of buffalo and carp were trapped. smile

You have not seen smoking bands in parks? The state parks in Denver when they and still may have such a lack of rain stated no smoking outside your camper or vehicle.
If we don't get rain that will be next NO SMOKING when fishing. Half the fun for me fishing is a cigar.
I don't even put out a cigar in my yard now with out making sure its out water it or stomp it LOL.
As to the mouth of the creek we ned a logger called Shelby from Ax men with a jet boat and tell him a good log is up stream. LOL

Weather was too nice on Saturday not to get out and at least look.
I was 9+ miles upstream from the Green Belt Park, but met several hikers, and bikers,
that made the trip up from that park (the indicated it was very full).

Last year, I visited the small dock below the dam, and caught several nice Hybrids
on live shad, so wanted to see depth, structure was in that area to hold those fish.

I visited the state Park below the Ray Roberts dam ($7/Person) with a pair of Kayaks.
That Kayak/Canoe launch is a joke. No way to safely launch a kayak by
myself) several dozen small, and steep stairs down to the water, and the water is only 6" deep.
I utilized my Kayak Dolly, and launched where the canoe/Kayak launch creek
feeds into the main creek (some deeper water of 8.5' out from that point) and pulled out
under the bridge.

After reading the reports on this Thread, I didn't expect to find too many
fish (marked them in the deeper holes 7.5' to 8.0'). Water Temp was 51
degrees F, and the air temp was 75 (will never get use to the
sudden change (currently in the 20's with sleet and ice on the roads).

Kayaked over to the spillway/small dock area (no one there).
There was a little release of water from the side-wall of the spillway
(about a fire hose amount).

Didn't mark any fish in that area.
