I'm thinking about dragging the boat the 300 miles from Arkansas and checking out Bonham Lake. I'll be visiting family in Sherman and thought about killing 2 birds. I've heard of some big fish coming from there. I have never fished there and would only have 1 or 2 days to fish. Of course, if the fishing is good, I could arrange to stay longer. How should I fish that lake during the last week March? Also what about hazards to be aware of? I understand I would need a Texas license and a Bonham boat permit, Anything else I need to be aware of? Any information would be appreciated.

Lake is about 2 feet low, not too bad. Fishing should be on fire at that time maybe, we are behind our normal spawn start due to cold weather which just blew in again today and will stay all week. I would fish shallow, if nothing then try deeper points and some of the many brush piles on the lake, they are everywhere cant miss them even with old electronics. anything watermelon/red usually works. also crank the dam. good luck the lake has big fish in it but can be stingy too.

Great little lake I would do as stated start flipping shallow cover green pumpkin red or blue fleck jigs or blue fleck power worms. Chatter baits and blades slow rolled on the points contact me closer to then and I may have better info
