Watched the Day 1 and 2 now, it is good, but hard to get 100% into it. Not sure if that's because I spent 10 hours a day online live. This is showing more fishing action than online, but a lot anti-climatic. I like BASS and Zona, but I think FLW does a little better job with its TV shows.

I'll watch but to me it will just be rerun. I watched almost the entire 3 days last week right down to when they shut down the cameras..........

The production could be more informative. Pop up a graphic of rod/reel/line used/lure used depth/cover/water color temp/wind when a fish is caught. Watching someone catch fish on TV is fine, but giving the details adds that important level of interest--makes the viewer think why did he/she choose that lure for that situation, etc.

Viewership for watching televised poker skyrocketed when the viewer was able to see the cards. Prior to the "card cam", it was just watching people play cards--boring. With the "card cam", the viewer gets more involved.

In years past, some sort of story would develop. I didn't see any drama on day 1. Hopefully gets better.

Ike needed to cuss a dog again this year! What did that do for ratings?

Howell coming back from 11th to get the win, a college angler rushing into the Top 10 and Fed angler Mueller almost winning it made for unmanufactured drama which was nice to see.

I like Ike. (just had to type that) smile
I recently read his book and have a new-found respect for the guy. He shines a light on some none-too-pretty things that go on behind the scenes in pro fishing, and doesn't pull any punches. He came to the spotlight at a time when the sport was dominated by Southern conservative good-ol-boy types and some of the powers-that-be wanted to keep it that way. Now it's way more open to folks according to their fishing ability and talents, and not personalities. I think, in the long run, that's a good thing.

-camouflage cottonmouths
-stumps are perpetually 4" under surface
-unforecast windstorms
-gators that act funny
-game wardens off their meds
Have a Nice Day smile

I hate that Bassmaster has resorted to inserting fake cheering during the weigh-in part of the shows. It's a lot more obvious during the regular tournaments, especially if you watch the weigh-in online and then watch the produced show later.

They get one or two big cheers from the audience before the weigh-in even starts and then reuse it over and over by dubbing it in.

I don't know what the goal of that is, but it's cheesy and cheap.
