Here's a few from last night. 5-6 FOW. Hardly any wind. Casting just outside the light at the boat slip with minnows.

Nice looking fish. And that was just a few of what you caught.  What Lake? And what time last night? Are you using a float when you cast or are you just letting it go to the bottom to retrieve? I think I'm going home too early.

I think I'm going home too early. I fished EM between 11 pm and 2 am. I was using light bobbers first but seemed to be missing a lot of hook ups. Changed to smaller floats with glow torches attached to them and then it was on. Fish would take it under longer and run with it.

I used to be able to stay out late with no problem going to work the next day, but now I think I need to be going home early.... Earlier anyway.

Sure looks like you are getting the hang of it. Like you I am new to crappie, just got into it last year coming from all bass fishing. I still like bass fishing but I like crappie fishing just as much. Plus they taste better.

Just keep on reading and learning. Great bunch of guys here sharing info to help newbies like you and me get our fish on. I've spent quite a few hours here learning and laughing at some great experiences. It's really a great forum.

I'm really trying to work on drawing the fish to me. It's easier to walk down to our slip from our apt and catch than to scout to catch due to my schedule. I learn what I can and apply what I learn, then share my results.
