That cold spell scared me back to Martin Creek this morning. Too windy for Murval and crappie, had enough of Palestine until it warms up some more. On the water early, water temps 67 at the ramp. I'm fired up as all three stacks are running. Fished for a couple of hours hard with nothing happening. Head to other side of lake and hit cormorant tree on the way. At least that idea worked, 20 inch cat on first cast.

Finally catch a small bass and then three more. No size but I'm starting to feel better about the day. Paddle on up the shore line fishing along the way. The wind is a steady 10 to 15 most of the day. Five other boaters at the ramp earlier, all gone before noon. Paddle to a more wind protected shoreline closer to power plant discharge, water 74. Stop at another cormorant tree miss three bumps in a row

Catch three more bass, none 16 inches or better. I'm getting frustrated again. Cross back across lake and end up where I started the day. Things getting back to normal late. Catch a 20 inch, 17, and a 18 and then several smaller fish. Off the water before dark. Can't wait for tomorrow to get here, fishing with Michael (mjmc) at Monticello.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
