I don't play well with others,....at least not pranksters.
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

I'm all for having fun because that's what it's all about. My friends and family used to do little things like toss a small fish at you when you weren't looking and come up behind you and let the tail of the fish slap you on the side of the face, but nothing that would cost you money or true harm. Splashing water on each other or even throwing a bucket of water on another is harmless, but don't mess with my boat or any of my gear. That's just messed up.

I think I am with the majority here. I love to have a good time and mess around. But I will make it clear, talking smak - go for it. Throwing a fish to splash me - go for it. Wiping fish slime on my jeans - go for it - but DON'T mess with my boat or gear. It took a great deal of pride and money to acquire it and maintain it. The funny thing is, you said that this was your buddies. I can not imagine any of my "buddies" doing such a inconsiderate act. Good fun is good fun, but what you describe is disrespectful and mean which would make me question if he is really by "buddy". I would have to worry if the next time I drank from my beer if there wasn't something else in can besides lake water. Find a different buddy. Maybe that is why if fish with my little friend in the photo more often than not. She never pranks.

Reading all the responses here -- I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to the $7 lure that keeps flying prank. As I see it, and presuming the prankster and victim are good friends, that one's a gut splitter. Reminds me a bit of the exploding golf ball off the tee scheme.
I will say that if I were playing the lost lure prank, I'd make sure I had a brand new same lure replacement in my pocket.

Had my drags loosened off, or may reach out with my rod tip and tap their line when not looking to watch the hookset, but only when fun fishing. Tournament time = no time for horseplay.

All my friends seem to be drunks. The only prank is when for a few mins I dont help them back out of the water.
I would rather catch fish and starve then be full and not catch fish.

There are only a hand full of guys that I fish with do this the rest are alot like everybody else, pretty serious about, I could take or leave it, doesn't matter to me one way or the other. So with that said, here is just one experience:
Back in the day Fork was just unbelieveable at night, seriously you could catch 40-50-60 fish a night up to about 8-9 lbs, we would only throw 3 baits, a jig, 12" worm and a blk/blu/purple 3/8ths Hilderbrandt go-getter, single #5 colorado blade, fish would try and rip the rod away from you. Now its kind hard to jack with a worm or a jig, so I was left with a SB. Now my partner at the time and yes he still is my partner and one of my best friends, his knots were say a little suspect to say the least. Bottom line they never worked. So he always had me tie his stuff on. Well one night I decided it was time, when I tied his SB on,............. I cut the hook off up by the skirt, ( I hate when that happens).......He never noticed it. Several hours later, I'm up, I don't know 22-25 fish, he has 0 and his excusses where all over the place. Reflexes too slow, bad rod, hands can't feel the bite, can't really see that good,(duh its nighttime), too many bats were out. anyway he finally gave up and started fishing his other rods and finally caught a few. When we came in that morning he finally noticed, that he had no hook, course I blamed on by QC and the factory, which he bought till I started laughin, then he knew, he chased me all over the parking lot at Popes, beatin me on the head with that rod, and callin me every name in the book.
those were some good times, man that was a long time ago, I don't think either one of us could run around a pickup now much less Popes parking lot

One time I was fishing with one of my best friends who is not much of a fisherman. We were fishing this amazing private lake in a 14 ft Jon. It was me my friend and his dad in the boat. We had probably caught 35 fish that morning. 3 being over seven and most being 3s and 4s. We would go five minutes without a fish and he would complain about the fishing sucked... Remember I said he wasn't much of a fisherman. He kept complaining to his dad "could you row the boat any slower". I got tired of it... hear we were on this beautiful lake that the owner was kind enough to let us fish and all he could do was gripe. Well I was having a blast so after 5-10 cast without a bite I hook one. My plan comes to mind. I don't let them know I have a fish and I keep it from jumping. I reel steady so if you weren't really paying attention you wouldn't know I had a fish. My friend was right in the middle of a rant about how tired and hot he was and I quickly swing the fish in his lap. ( It's a job boat we were sitting down). He screams like a girl and his hat sun glasses and about 7 of my spinnerbaits go into the water( this was the down side) He almost fell in. I should mention he was scared of touching any of the fish he caught that morning. His dad nearly fell in because he was laughing so hard. I was doing the same. My friend was mad and stayed in a bad mood for the rest of the day. He always says he was having a bad day cause he didn't get enough sleep. The truth is he isn't a fisherman.

They appreciate it I read a book once where a fellow rented a safety deposit box at a bank, and then proceeded to fill it with frozen carp. It seems like he was PO'd at the bank, and know they couldn't open the box without a court order, which would take several days after the thaw.

Try this one... Next time you catch a 6-9" knot-head bass put it in your buddy's shorts pocket head first. They flare their gills out thinking the are being swallowed and its hard to get them out. It takes about 5min to get'em out...
You can't catch a fish on a dry hook. SKEETER for LIFE!
