If you were gonna fish one of the two in the next weekend, which would it be? We're looking at quick trip next weekend and just looking at which one would be the best shot at catching a fish or two.

Think water at gilmer is still pretty cold so for that reason welsh would probable do ya better on numbers.

Hands down, Welsh. I've been there threes times in the past 6 weeks and the bite is good. White Chatterbaits, white/chart spinnerbaits 1/2 oz, t-rigged watermelon red baby brush hogs, red traps, black & blue jig and flick shake trick sticks (senko style bait) in watermelon red - 5 inch. Good luck.

Gilmer is one of my favorite lake. 7.5 and a 9 were caught in my club tourney there last year. Awesome lake. But, welsh may be better bet right now with the water temps

Thanks for the tips guys. May just have to throw a dart at the map and see which one we fish, but either way, we're gonna give it a whirl!

Why "throw a dart at a map"? You asked and all but one response was overwhelmingly for Welsh. :-)

water temp at welsh was from 65 up to 75 near the discharge. It would not be a question where I go.
