The interesting thing is that the trees that was cleared on the I-45 Feeder were all pushed up next to the pond, which makes it impossible to see from the feeder road. It can be seen from the Freeway for a mere instant when heading south. The proporty is for sale... so one of these days it may dissapear. I have heard that the soil was used to build the freeway ramps... and if you look closely you can find these ponds up and down main freeways. I am starting to investigate more.

Yeehau, these "Borrow Pits" are fairly common here in TX and LA. Problem is most of 'em are on private property. The landowners basically got a pond dug for free, and the state got to use the dirt for construction projects, typically the ramps to the overpasses on the freeway adjacent to the pond. Good examples of this are the ponds just north of 2920 on I45. The one right behind the trailer place there at Spring Steubner and the one just across the tracks to the north. Growing up in LA I would sneak into a lot of these. Age and experience keeps me from doing that stuff any more.

Honestly I don't know if it's private or not. The property is for sale so someone must own it. So I would say... fish at your own risk. I did not see any no trespassing signs on that property though.
If we could get an address on it... we could look it up on HCAD and find out who owns it. If you drive past it again, grab the tel number of the For Sale sign. I don't think I'll be by there in the next few days.

If I go by there I will do that. Also, let me know when you may be able to go fish again.
I am out of state from June 7-19 but I am here the rest of the summer
