Anyone have any reports lately from the dead sea?
Been a while since anyone's reported anything. Bass, cats, whitebass?
Just one more cast!

I lost a good one in Dec 2012...LOL....Haven't been back for various reasons. The funny thing is, we all know there are big fish in there. I may check it out this spring.....Someone is probably catching some big ones and staying all hush. I bet if a Sharelunker comes out of there soon, you won't be able to book a room!!

I just figured I'd ask. It's been so long since I've seen anyone mention anything about Choke that I completely forgot there was a lake down there. I know it had been really slow but that's been a good while back and the weather finally started to cooperate. Maybe the fish aren't the only one's with lockjaw!

I went down about 3 weeks ago just to take the boat out. Couldn't launch at South Shore had to go to Caliham. Better be careful getting around if you go.

It just about has me scared to go there now. I normally will run all over that lake at high speed (except up river) but now it is freaking DANGEROUS! If you want to see hull punchers/busters head on down. If you have never fished it at its current level you better take it real slow.
After it gets below 21' low it starts to get real dangerous.

I drove around that river bottom before the lake filled and fished the lake when it first opened, and they left most all the trees except right near the dam. That lake is one massive stump field!

There is a lot of good fish still in choke, but gar, and low water, and the 2 year meat run that visitors have been making have taken its toll. Really wish there was more water so you could get around easier. Best of luck but to much of a hassle with the current situation.

The good Lord works in mysterious ways. Choke needs a break and that is what it is getting. Low levels keep fisherman away and the lake hopefully gets a chance to recover.

If you head down the river from the main lake and pitch wacky worm rattle snake with a 1/8 oz weight on the inside of the trees from the bank towards the river you will put a few in like that, it will be a lot of trolling but it is a decent pattern now

LOL...yeah, we were all spoiled several years back when the above would have been just another good 30lb five fish bag at a Bass Champs weigh in...so it's all relative to your experiences on the lake, both past and present.

I like calling it the dead sea. The lake needs a break with the low water levels, and it may sound selfish but there has been too much pressure on that lake because of her past harvests. Give her a chance to fill up and have a couple of good spawns and she'll be back probably stronger than ever.
