These pics were posted on another board I am on and I was wondering if anyone here has seen these and know the story behind them. My thoughts are that the pics are a hoax. All opinions welcomed and greatly appreciated. redfish1 redfish2 Sorry I had to put a link I tried to just put the pics in this thread but they would not come through. Billy

Fake!! If the snake was in the stomach, it would have been at least a little bit mangled or distorted. This one looks brand new!!! IMO

If you save the pics & zoom in on the snake it looks pretty darn real to me..But they could have just killed the snake & placed it there..There is a crook in the snakes neck where the fish looks to have held onto it untill it drown.. I dunno..

Fake.. Any story with pic. Also where is the stomach lineing? Actually, I think they would have removed the stomach to view its contents. The picture could still be a fake even though I think it is possible a fish that size could eat a snake that large.

You can tell the stomach contents have been removed by the crustations next to the snakes head. This same picture came up on another site(ABWF) twice already once about a year ago and another a few days ago. I think it is a real snake but dont think the redfish ate him.

Have u guys ever seen what a perch or shad looks like after it has been sitting in a fishes stomach for a while. It looks nothing like what that snake looks like. If that snake had been eaten, the skin would not be there or u would at least see the thing starting to decay. I have found snakes in a basses stomach before but the snake was just a ton of vertabrae with a little meat left on the bone. Deff. a fake.. Maybe real snake and fish but the red did not eat the snake..Also, that is a small red, the snake folded up wouldnt even fit inside of it. Cant believe that someone would even try to pass that as real....I'll see you guys..

Actually I have seen contents inside a fish's mouth and often times it is still pretty apparent of what it used to be. All I am going to say here is that the picture could be possible. I don't feel like scrutinizing the picture but it is very possible for a fish to eat such a thing. I once saw a 5 pound bass, trying to swallow a 3 pound bass at lake fork. I have caught a 7 pound bass with a huge bullfrog in its stomach because I could still feel it moving around. There is no reason that what is pictured above could not happen. I say REAL

Although I think the pics are a hoax...........the snake is way to big.
I was fishing the weeds along the shore one time at the Cedar byou (rockport area) and I landed a nice red. I pulled the red in and went to take the hook out his mouth and saw a tail. I hestitated for a second (the fish was a keeper). I pulled the tail out of his mouth and it was a dead baby snake. not sure what kind. It was just a small snake though. Kind of took me by suprise.
Also, one time, same place (cedar byou) we were fishing one side of the byou. Water was calm like glass that day. In the distance accross the way I see something on the top of the water swimming towards my boat. After a couple of minutes I could make out it was a snake. The snake makes a staight line for my boat (my boat is white). The snake ends up being a small rattle snake. It tried many times to board my boat for some reason, lol. I took my push pole an guided it back to the weeds on the shore, but it kept coming back. Although it could not get on my boat, I just found it funny. Anyhow, point is, the little thing could of been struck by any large size fish in the byou or even a bird for that matter..........it was a sitting duck.
