Are white bass in Conroe now extinct .I killed the whites here up to 3 years ago nothing for the last 3 season's. blab

A guide caught one last week.
They are very rare.
He should have thrown it back and let it spawn but it was on the fish cleaning table.

I find it hard to believe that whitebass in any large body of water would ever go extinct but I've heard nothing good reported from Stubblefield for the last two seasons. The San Jacinto river isn't much of a river above Conroe and the dry conditions we have suffered through over the last five years of so might have put a big dent in the whitebass reproduction & population..
