Especially with the hot Summer coming, wonder what you guys use for sun protection that is not chemical sunscreen. I have looking at gaiters and long sleeve sun protection clothing, but I wonder which keep you coolest. Gore tex, freeze zero and other "wicking" fabrics aren't web rated very well by most users in our hot/ high humidity/ or sometimes still wind conditions.
Thanks,
Porta

I use UnderArmor. If you get the summer clothes, it breathes really well and you can keep the sun off you 100%.

Start with a hat and long sleeve shirt. I bought some UnderArmour stuff lightly used off EBay. I also have some Columbia stuff from Academy. The major brands come out with something new every year making people think they need the latest and greatest item available. In reality, the stuff from 5 years ago works just fine.
Most of the shirts I buy now have a collar to help keep the sun off my neck. If I am going to be outside for a while, I don't wear flip flops as the tops of my feet burn easily.

Columbia and Magellan both make quality long sleeves I have both and they are both SPF 50 and very cool in the slightest breeze

Thanks for all the great hints, guys!
I've been using a loose, thin, nylon windbreaker shell with hoodie and bill cap for face cover plus loose flex coach's pants- works OK on cold days. The double zippered hoodie front allows quick ventilation/cover depending on sun position during travel-while keeping head/ back and neck protection. The dark color and low wicking would be too hot for Summer and my side vision being blocked is a downside.
I found a low cost white windbreaker shell/hoodie on Amazon which I might try out. So long as there is a light breeze I can zip down if I am turned with my back to the sun.
I do have an umbrella slip in mount on my boat which works if there's no wind, except for water surface reflection bounce upward...
Hey, mud worked in the Terminator movie :-)
