There are a lot of people that use gas pipe for shallow water anchoring. I just use my box anchors. I can not see a reason to use a Power Pole for catfishing.

Very tough call. IMO ipilot can compleatly change the way you fish deep water and give you an advantage to "drift" certain areas or directions you normally would not be able to do so. Can also allow you to drift on days the wind does not allow you to.

Power pole on the other hand would be very nice be held in a solid position with the push of a button. Great way to keep the back of the boat from swinging around.

But so would a power pole. You could pull up into shallow water and drop your anchor and throw for bait

I have and use both on my boat. I bought the I-Pilot first and would do the same again but really like both.

I have no experience with an IPilot but I would like to. However we do have 2 Minn Kota Talons on our barge. Front and back and it sure is nice to pull up in shallow water and just hit a button instead of driving poles.

yea, and they laugh at me struggling to pull my pipes up every time.

Im going to get a Talon for the back some day.
