Did you consider a pro-am format? I have not seen a good pro-am format tourney in my area (North Central Texas). BFL is all Sam Rayburn/T Bend, which is a big drive for me.
Best of luck in your endeavor!

This would be interesting to see, but I think that problem that you are going to have is with the bracket. After the first event, you might lose interest because if I team doesn't qualify for the next one, what's the incentive to come back? Out side of that, I wouldn't mind seeing this kind of format. IMO the entry fee would be depending on how many entry's you have. If you can only get about 10 boats to come out, then the entry fee could scare more off if it's too high. I know that I wouldn't want to pay over $500 to fish knowing that I could get knocked out after the first round with nothing to show. That's just my Like I said, I like the idea, but without hearing more details, it might be difficult to generate enough buzz to have a good sized group commit to it.

Thanks guys for your input. Thomas's questions are why I posted. It's y'all's tourney so I want it to be unique And enjoyable. My initial entry thought was about $250. I will keep working. Keep suggestions coming. My goal is one hundred boats. I tournament fish so I know what the expectations Are but let's think out of the box. Thanks again

Cool idea. You'll probably get 1000 different opinions on this. My two cents would be to make the entry cheaper and if you made the cut you have to pay again the next tournament to participate. Example with 100 boats the top 50 would move on and pay to fish next tournament then top 25 etc. you get the idea. If ya did keep the entry at $250 and attracted 100 boats you could think about paying like 75% of the pot to the final two and the remaining 25% in a side tournament to everyone that entered and missed the cut. It would be like a second chance.

Here is quick a look at a tournament format:
1) All teams pay an entry fee (ex.$100-$150) 2) All teams fish with the top 50% making the first cut (weight not carried over to next round) First day fish daylight till noon (example: 50 teams move to next round) 3) The first cut morning teams fish again and the field is cut by 50% Then fish 1200 til 5 p.m.(example: cut to top 25 teams) 4) The second cut afternoon teams fish again and the field is cut by 50% Second day fish daylight to noon (example: cut to top 12 teams) 5) The final teams (6) fish for the the money with payout based on order of finish . Fish from 1200 to 5 p.m.
Just my thoughts!!! Similar to One More's idea.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. I think we're on the same wave link . Wherever we land on fees there will be a nominal fee worked in. Most tourneys are 80-85%. We will probably put those fees on a sliding scale based on entries To keep as much in the pot as we can. This will most likely not be sponsor based the first time so I will Be attempting to give as much away as I can and keep the pot full as possible. Now, lake suggestions. Let's go.....

I might even offer a separate solo division to run in coordinate with it. Interests?
