Do you guys run external antenna on hds gen 2 units and if so which one u run?

No and not sure why you would want to. Internal works just fine.

I run the Point-1....only for the heading sensor, makes it nice when fishing small structure.

Built in GPS is fine for the bow. For the console I want a separate puck. The distance between the console and the transducer causes an error. In other words when you mark a waypoint with a built in GPS the actual location of what you mark is off by the distance between the console and the transducer. It might not be much, maybe 6 feet or so, but any error is too much.

Yes, Point-1 on bow and transom, not only do I have magnetic headings on both units, but I get a refresh rate of 10 times per second vs. 5 (internal). The faster refresh comes in handy on the bow as well for staying aligned with a waypoint.
