I was born and raised on PK. Still have a lake house there that has been without waterfront for almost a year. In 2001 our property tax was 700 a year and is now over 6000. When Roger Staubach got involved in the BRA was the beginning to all of it. Now living in Granbury and I see the measures people are taking to extend water lines from their house and 90% of the lakes docks can't get their boats out of their slips is absurd. Having said that I can't blame it all on the BRA since we have not had the rain needed to put water in the lake. I remember two years ago when the lake was three feet low and filled up in two days after a good series of rain. Like most west Texas lakes alot of rain will fix alot of problems.

Everyone needs to get rid of politicians like this

It's not just the BRA,the TRWD(Tarrant Regional Water District), LCRA(Lower Colorado River Ath.) and many more of these water districts in Texas are really just private entities that have their on bylaws and the governing board are bullet prof to the communities within their water district. They totally operate at their own discretion regardless of the loss to recreation and value of lake front property owners. When the shale drilling and fracking began in the Eagle Mtn Lake area these drilling companies sucked the lake down to 50% capacity. All these water districts have big $$$$$ prioritys with whom they cater to ahead of the municipality's they where originated to care for. My question is " where does this money go" and why and how these so called districts actually own these Texas lakes.

Sad to see Granbury getting this low. The fishing last spring for bass was awesome and nobody was fishing the lake. Never saw more than ten boats on any day including weekends.

More people need to read the article and see what's really happening to the lake levels.
