I have an hds 8 on bow and console that are linked together. Has been working fine until this past weekend when i installed a new navionics chip. Bow unit now reads No Source when try to view down or side imaging. Tried turning on and off both units and repose ring lss2 but still nothing. I also switched it back to read off lowrance chart but still didn't work. Thinking may be the Ethernet cable at this point but would like to trouble shoot it some more before going down that route. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

I have a couple of questions.
1. Are both HDS units gen 2? 2. Are both units running software version 2.1
Are both units connected to your structure scan box? If so, does the same NO SOURCE happen on both units. Assuming you have 2 Ethernet cables; fron the SS hub to each HDS why not switch the head units or the cables to troubleshoot?
Another thing to look at, when both units are turned on.. Select MENU, MENU, NETWORKING.. Then scroll to DEVICE LIST. Both you HDS 8's should show up in that list if you have networking turned on.
Next, I would suggest a soft reset.. Hold PAGES and hit the power button ( holding both keys ) once you see the splash screen or map, then release.
A bad Ethernet cable can cause your problem too
Hope this helps,
Jeff

Ethernet cable if you have "no source". Might have gotten loose or you might need to change the Ethernet to a different port on the LSS box. I've read about both of those things causing problems. If none of that fixes it then it could be a bad cable.
Also make sure your LSS box fuse it still good and the yellow is still connected tight.

My structure scan is working fine on the console unit.
When I try to change sources manually through the menu options it no long gives me the options.
I will try the soft reset and also changing the connections to the box. Thanks guys
