Ok, So I go pick up my new CC boat next Monday. I am new to the whole Down Imaging, Sonar, GPS Thing-a-ma-bobs, I do understand the importance of them, but there are so many dang choices and I don't want to spend a fortune. I also need a trolling motor, same issue as above. I am getting a Tracker 2072 with a 90 4stroke Merc, what would be a few good choices for the above mentioned that I will not have to take out another loan for. I am looking at spending around 800 for both if possible.

you arent going to get both for 800 unless you buy used. A good low cost down image,gps,sonar is a lowrance elite 7, for about 600-700.

It takes a few thousand to rig out a boat. If your not patient and looking for deals
and adding them when you find them.
You will pay to play,but you really shouldnt play to hard.

The latest and greatest is not the BEST,older,simpler stuff works fantastic
and often better then the shiny new stuff.

WOW!!!! I guess I better start saving up or look for a good used Tm, About what pound thrust would I need, not looking to go trolling with it, just moving around to catch some shad. And on the sonar, what would be a good starter setup?

If you don't need or want side imaging then the Lowrance Elite 7 HDI would be my choice. It's has great sonar, down imagine and GPS. If your looking at the iPilot then you will need a Humminbird and lakemasters chip. Otherwise, you could find a good deal on a cable steer trolling motor that someone is selling to upgrade them-self. Elite 7 HDI and a strong cable steer TM (used) you might be able to pick up for around $1200 +. If you desire the iPilot then hang on..it's going to double or more your budget.
