 First Red Pics and its a monster!!!

I didnt bring back any big reds this last trip but my friends sure did. I caught quite a few but there was no need for me to keep the big ones. We also did well on slots. This is my buddy and best man, Matt. He doesnt fish much if at all and these pics are of his first redfish and first sharks. He has caught tons of trout(I took him to secret hole last april) but this was his first tangle with the big boys. Nice fish matt and congrats! Most people are lucky to catch a fish of that size but we know its not luck, just a matter of where you are fishing and what you are fishing with. The red is between 44 and 48 inches long with a weight of around 30lbs. I will measure the fish when I get back down in a few weeks. I made marks on a table and will measure the marks when i get back down.

Sorry for the big pic but I wasnt sure on how to downsize it or I would have. Thanks to whom ever downsized it for me. Also, I guess you guys know that its not my first red but a good friend of mines first red. He likes to fish but usually doesnt have the time. He ended up taking off work for a few days and he caught numerous reds over 39 inches. It was funny to hear him after every fish, " can I keep this one?" The answer was no most of the time but we did manage a few slots too. It was fun matt and once october gets here, we will work to put you on a bigger red, although the one you caught will be tough to beat. The only fish Matt has left to catch in the bays is a trophy class flounder. He has a 28" trout, 40+" red, and a small flounder. I will put him on a 20+inch flounder in due time!

40 inch trout??????? Pray all you want and I dont think god would be so kind as to hook you up with a 40 inch trout. lol
