I find it amazing that there are so many empty seats for the weighin for a stae that calls itself the capital of bass fishing. Birmingham is not showing up to the weighins. Tulsa is still the best as far as turn out by the public.

Yeah, I agree, the crowds are surprisingly low at Birmingham.
Part of that might be the good crowds that have been on Guntersville itself. They might be watching the action on the water and not making the trip to B-Ham.

looks crowded now, I don't think as many people wanted to just watch dogs jumping.

I was there the last two days. Lots of empty seats. I also thought the weigh ins were a train wreck to watch. I've been to the Classic 6 times and never have I seen that many delays to weigh in fish. Very very slooooow. Weigh in ended at 7:40pm day one and prolly 7:30 last night.

I have been watching the live cast and have consistently thought the crowd has been quiet. The MC has constantly been trying to work them to get them louder.

There were big crowds at the take off Friday and Saturday morning and we had friends staying in Guntersville and they didn't make the trip back to Birmingham to watch the weigh in. 80-90 miles one way. I know it kept a lot of people from attending the weigh in. We still had a blast though and are planning to go back and stay a week to fish.

As much as I love bass fishing and would like to go to a Bassmaster, looking at it from the spectator standpoint, is there really anything exciting about watching fish being weighed? I know, to each his own.

Went to Birmingham when Ray Scott was MC, the place was filled and there was a lot of excitement throughout the whole weigh-in program. Had some good C&W performers prior to actual weigh-in. There was no need to wave a rag and constantly beg the crowd to respond with cheers or applause. Another thing in that Classic they had the stage in the middle of the arena. Good seats from anywhere to see the whole show. Today you have to watch it on a screen or take binoculars if you are not seated close to stage. They are going backward.
