Go to Academy and get you some tennis raquet grip tape, it cost about $3-$4 dollars. I do this on all my rods to preserve them and to help with fighting those fish.

I have some covered with shrink tubing. It has been on for several years and works fine. It is also easy to clean.

I bought some tennis grip tape at walmart and it worked OK Thanks. Now my wife has put her claim on to blue handle rods.

Depending on how much you like the rod you could also have the cork replaced. Or buy some handle wrap from Bass Pro Shop.
