This is the deal. If money was not an object which Humminbird fish finder would you recommend. This is my 2nd year fishing bass tournaments and I have seen some nice rig setups. I am not up to speed on all the cool stuff out there, but I saw this guys screen and it would not move when the boat was parked. It showed what was right under the boat at all times. I am looking for something like that. I do not care about the price. I just need some help. I don't want to buy the most expensive model just to have it either. But $2500 is the going cost on hummingbird.com. Any help guys would be great....

Im not a Hummingbird fan, I would buy a new Lowrance HDS 12 , it comes with a 12" touch screen, structure scan , down scan , & side scan imaging, it is a lot clearer then hummingbird

Huminbird's are very user friendly. 1198/1199 are great units. But both brands are good.

Like Forkfish said both are great units, and IMO both have their good points. I bought my 998c HD SI and a 958c HD DI last year from David at shutup and fish, if and when u decide to pull the trigger, contact David he will do u right. Now why did I pick HB over Lowrance, one reason and one reason only, HB was all inclusive, by that I mean u didn't have to buy a 2000.00 unit then buy another 600.00 unit just to get it to work, which was lowrance at the time. Now though its all changed, if I had to do over I would likely go with Lowrance, just because I have always had lowrance, but I am very satisfiyed with my HB, they do everything I want to do. I know they are all expensive but get the biggest screen u can afford, you'll be better off

Don't have one on my boat yet, but based on looking at them at BPS, I'd go with the Lowrance 12. The Humminbird Onix is just too slow.
